This is a wonderful opportunity for sculptors of large outdoor works to exhibit in a park environment in a small, friendly town at a busy Central Texas crossroads between Austin and Dallas/ Ft. Worth.
Three jurors, prominent in the arts, will choose five sculptors to exhibit work for one year in Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden within the city owned Campbell Park.
Each sculptor will receive an award of $1,000 on completion of installation, April 26, 2008. The work must remain in the park for one year.
The parks proximity to historic downtown Lampasas makes it possible for many residents and school children, as well as visitors from out of town, to visit the sculpture garden and experience art.
This year’s theme is Wildlife. This may include broad interpretations related to animal, vegetable or mineral.
Art in the Park is an annual event sponsored by Lampasas Association for the Arts.
